Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory
They have truffles, candied apples, chocolate bark, and anything your sweetheart desires... I stopped by last week and had the pleasure of making some fudge myself (it's a challenge!).
If you're not sure what you're craving the Rocky Mountain ladies are very generous with their samples and happy to help you decide!
Check out their website. Or stop in... 8521 Brier Creek Parkway!
Happy Valentine's Day!!! xoxo @JamieLinck #TheCW22
I bought mine with the sole intention of wearing them to work out... so now they actually make me want to get dressed for the gym!
Follow me for all my gym follies (like having to run 7 miles in order to get a good nights sleep...) @JamieLinck #TheCW22

3 concerts in 1 week!
The Three Concerts:
Ben Rector at Carolina Theatre in Durham
Michael Buble at PNC Arena
Butch Walker at Lincoln Theatre
While the venues and tunes may have been different ... all three men were charismatic and funny on stage! It enhances the experience when they can make smooth transitions from song to song. Check them all out next time they're in town!
1. "Girls" by The 1975
2. "The Beat" by Ben Rector
3. "Happy Pills" by Norah Jones
Wide Open Bluegrass Festival
Come out to the Wide Open Bluegrass Festival in downtown Raleigh. I'll be the emcee tonight at the free stage on Martin Street near Fayetteville Street. (That's right, no ticket needed for this stage!) Some great bands are lined up and I am honored to introduce them.
Follow me @JamieLinck for live updates and pictures! In the words of Scotty McCreery... "See you tonight!"
Apply this renewed sense of life to your work out routine. Completely switch it up for fall fitness! I'm taking longer walks instead of short runs and I've enrolled in a Pure Barre class after ditching my regular gym membership.
Not only will the new exercises keep my body guessing, but my brain as well. It'll be harder to become bored with a workout when I'm still learning what all the techniques and phrases mean!
Try it with me and follow my progress @JamieLinck.
New York! New York!
The talent on stage was impressive. And I can say the same for the DJs I was fortunate enough to meet. I took every opportunity I could get to pick their brains about their individual radio careers.
I came back to Raleigh feeling inspired (and singing non-stop show tunes)! If you have the chance definitely see a Broadway show this year.
"What do you do when it rains?"
Here are my 3 rules for looking cute in the rain:
1. It is impossible to have a good hair day. So put the straightener away, throw your hair in a low bun and rock it.
2. Rain boots are your friend. Wear them into the office but bring your heels in your bag. If you get to work early enough, not many people will see you wearing them before you stash them under your desk.
3. Buy a grown up rain jacket. Nothing kills your professional mood more than throwing your bright pink college rain coat over your $200 post-grad blazer. Now is a good time to invest in a sharp black or brown trench coat with a hood ... winter is coming!

Food Truck Fever
The next one is October 13th from 12pm to 5pm and it's FREE. I'll be there.
My favorite food truck is Chirba Chirba, what's yours? Tweet at me! @JamieLinck
Back to School.. Back to Work!
Even though I am a 25 year old adult on the outside, I am a giddy middle schooler inside when it comes to new pens and pencils. There's no rule that says I can't apply the same excitement of a new locker to sprucing up my desk with a few freshly sharpened pencils, right??
Take a look at what I've done below.
And follow me @JamieLinck #TheCW22
I had some photographs taken last week as a kind of late 25th birthday gift to myself. I will always remember what I looked like after a quarter century of life.
Thanks Tripp Green!
On Wednesday night I experienced some of the finest dining the Triangle has to offer... Rey's Restaurant.
Located in Cary, Rey's offers an intimate setting for any family dinner or romantic night out. Throughout the meal, Rey himself (the master mind behind Rey's Restaurant) was at our table ensuring our meal was delectable and to our liking.
I chose the Grouper Lafayette and a side of Au Gratin Potatoes complimented with a glass of white wine poured in the Voodoo Lounge. The encore to the Grouper?? Bananas Foster made tableside by Rey!
It was evident that Rey had a hand in every aspect of our dinner, giving it an aura of love. This personal touch seems so rare in an age of turning tables and rushing the customer. I have never felt so welcomed and appreciated as a patron.
Without a doubt, make Rey's Restaurant your next night out. And make sure to bring a healthy appetite!
4th of July Recipe Share : Fruit Pizza
Fruit Pizza :
1 roll of Pillsbury Sugar Cookie dough
1 package of Cream Cheese (8oz)
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
Strawberries & Blueberries
Heat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray cookie sheet (or line with wax paper). Spread out the cookie dough on baking sheet and cook for 16 to 20 minutes (golden brown). While crust cools, beat together cream cheese, sugar and vanilla. Spread mixture over cooled crust evenly. Arrange fruit on top of cream cheese (bonus points if you make it look like an American flag!). Refrigerate for an hour then serve!
Good luck!!! xoxo
Second? It tastes way better than it sounds! The seed serves as a great protein replacement if you're not a meat eater. It's gluten free. And can be made for breakfast, lunch or dinner!
Cook it with almond milk to make an oatmeal like breakfast snack. Or use chicken broth for a flavorful side at dinner. It can be found next to rice in your local supermarket.
Whichever way you cook it just remember to rinse it off first!

So I'm gonna tell you a few phrases that I, myself, would like to hear:
- Everything is going to work out.
- You are more organized than you think.
- But you could still be MORE organized.
- Donate those clothes you don't wear!
- Wherever you end up you'll make feel at home.
- Don't be scared!
- This is a new chapter and is so exciting!!!
YOU CAN DO IT!

Wake Health Medical Group
If you're working through a sports or work injury I definitely recommend visiting Wake Health Medical Group for a medical massage. Or if you're dealing with skin issues they are a perfect option for treatment of that ailment as well! Their website is even titled WakeGreatSkin.com so you know they mean business.
Let me know if you make a trip there and tell me how your experience was!
Visit artsplosure.org to find out more details!
If you're lucky enough to have a mom or mother-like figure in your life, it's easy to show her you care. You don't necessarily have to buy a present. You could make her breakfast instead and pick some wild flowers outside. It'll still make her feel loved which is all she wants. xoxo.
I got to meet Imagine Dragons before their concert last night downtown! Not only were they super nice guys but they put on a really wonderful show with tons of uplifting music.
They said they'd be back in Raleigh, so when they come try and make a point to go!
1 Can of Rotel
Smash up the 2 avocados with a fork. Drain the Rotel can and add half of it to the avocado mush. Squeeze a little lime juice over top and stir it all up! No need for spices or seasoning because the Rotel takes care of all of that.
Try some! A great healthy snack any time of the year, not just the 5th of May.
How To : Get Healthy
xx Pick one time a day to swap out a carb for a vegetable. For example, go for a cup of broccoli instead of a baked potato. It's a small adjustment but will make a big difference.
xx Go for a walk! If you haven't done too much exercise this winter and then all of a sudden start running 3 and 4 miles you might shock your system and get sick. So start slow and just walk around the park and you'll be running before you know it.
xx Hydration is key. Drink at least one more glass of water a day than you normally would. Not only will this help flush out toxins in your body, it'll clear up your skin too!
How To: Cure Those Sunday Blues
+ Get out your planner and write it all down! Everything you want to accomplish this week. It'll feel great crossing an item off every day.
+ Treat yourself to a little something, whether it's a Disney movie or playing with a cute pup! Anything that puts a smile on your face and lights up your evening.
What do you do to cure your Sunday Blues? Tweet at me and let me know! @JamieLinck
25 Isn't So Bad!
I was really nervous to turn 25 (a quarter of a century is a longtime!). So when my grandmother asked what she could do to make my 25th birthday a little more exciting, I asked her for a trip. I had no idea I'd be blessed with the trip of a lifetime... She sent me to Hawaii!
We spent 4 nights on the island of Oahu that holds Hawaii's capital Honolulu and popular tourist destination Waikiki Beach. And yes... we did everything tourist-y that you could imagine! We hiked to the top of a mountain, drove through a rain forest, saw 20 foot waves with local surfers surviving them, and visited the zoo!
My favorite was the Paradise Cove Luau. It wasn't just a show, but indigenous activities before hand and an incredible meal after.
Hawaii was more than fun and games! We made time for education and stopped by Pearl Harbor. It was eerie to be in such a beautiful place and know something so horrible had happened there. We walked through a submarine to get a better sense of what Navy life was like.
If you ever get the chance to head to Hawaii, take it! The 16 hours of travel is completely worth it!
How To: Earn Those New Clothes
I just turned in these 4 gently used dresses at a local "recycling retail store" and made 35 dollars. That's enough for a dress and flip flops to this weekends barbeque!
The Power of a Manicure
I <3 JT
Check it out, Tuesday night at 8pm on The CW22
We've all got them. Mine happens to be the Ranch Snack Wrap at McDonalds! Whenever I'm on the run taking Vivian to puppy class or headed to work at the radio station I know I always have 5 minutes to spare for the deliciousness that's handed to meat the McDonalds drive thru.
So I just about squealed when I heard McDonalds was bringing a bigger version of the snack wrap stateside! Coming to a drive thru near you are three hunger stopping McWrap flavors:
Sweet Chili Chicken
Chicken& Ranch (my favorite)
All three have a crispy or grilled chicken option. While you're ordering see if your McDonalds offer the Shamrock Shake! The luck of the Irish has never tasted so sweet
Check out the McWraps here:
